Large Capacity Cesspool Closure
Crouching Lion Inn
Kaaawa, Oahu
Large Capacity Cesspool (LCC) closures were mandated by the EPA several years ago. LCCs are cesspools that use more than 1,000 gallons of water per month. First Quality has extensive experience in the conversion of LCCs to approved wastewater treatment systems.
This particular system was done for the Crouching Lion Restaurant in Kaaawa. Included was the installation of a 2,500-gallon grease trap for the kitchen. In accordance with requirements of the Safe Water Drinking Branch of the Department of Health, five existing cesspools were filled with concrete and sealed to avoid further ground water contamination.
